Turmeric root Tambuli / Arisina kombina tambuli

I was extremely happy to get a bunch of turmeric roots in our terrace garden last weekend when I was trying to replant. I recalled the turmeric tambuli recipe which my father in law used to cook. Was happy to prepare using super fresh tendor turmeric roots. Rest of the roots were used to prepare turmeric powder. Please refer to this link to know how to prepare turmeric powder at home. 

Ingredients 

Turmeric roots - 3 pieces 
Grated coconut - 8 to 10 spoons
Green chillies - 4
Butter milk - 1 cup 
Salt to taste

For Tempering
Oil - 1 spoon
Mustard seeds - 1/4 spoon
Red chillies - 1

Method

Cleanly wash the fresh turmeric roots. Remove the skin and chop into fine pieces. Grind the chopped turmeric roots along with grated coconut, chillies and butter milk. Add salt to taste.

Heat a tempering spatula. Add oil, mustard seeds. Break the red chilly into 3-4 pieces and add. When mustard seeds starts spattering add this to prepared tambuli.

Can serve this with rice.
