One can not equate the taste and aroma of homemade turmeric powder, with that available in market. The difference in quality is felt especially when it is applied to skin, or mixed with milk.
Ingredients
Turmeric roots – Quantity as per your strength to slice them
/ your requirement of turmeric powder
Method
Soak the turmeric roots in water for about 30 minutes. Wash
the roots by changing the water 3-4 times so that no mud particles should remain in
the turmeric roots.
Cut the turmeric roots into thin slices. Spread the same on
a thin cotton cloth and cover the same using another thin cotton cloth and dry it in the sun light. Cover it to avoid the contamination with dust.
It may take 5 to 6 days to dry fully under the harsh sun, or may take some more days if it is not so sunny.
Put the dried turmeric roots on to dry mixer grinder jar and
powder the same. Now put it on to a Sieve to get the powder. If you feel
powder is not fine enough, grind the same again and strain it.
Homemade turmeric
powder is ready to use now :)
You can simply add this powder to milk along with sugar and
drink.
Beauty tip – Mix
¼ spoon of turmeric powder, 1 spoon of honey and 1 spoon on lemon juice and
apply on the face. Leave it for about 30 minutes and wash it off. You can feel
the glow on the face.
