The Bimbli, a lesser known relative of the star-fruit, is full of vitamins and adds an exciting flavour to curries. Bimbli can be used to prepare chutney, Tambuli and pickle. Here is the super easy to cook chutney recipe.
Ingredients
For tempering
Coconut oil - 1 spoon
Coconut - half medium sized
Raw Bimbli - 4
Raw Bimbli - 4
Green chillies - 3
Salt to taste
Salt to taste
For tempering
Coconut oil - 1 spoon
Red chilly - 1
Mustard seeds - 1/4 spoon
Mustard seeds - 1/4 spoon
Method
Grate the coconut. Wash and chop bimbli. Grind grated coconut, chopped bimbli and green chillies along with salt using a mixer grinder. Transfer the contents on to a vessel.
Heat a tempering spatula. Add oil. Mustard seeds and red chilly pieces. When mustard seeds starts spattering, add this to the chutney.
Optionally you can add chopped onion to the chutney.
