
Jamun is a seasonal fruit known for its numerous health benefits. It is believed to support blood sugar regulation and aid digestion. Recently guests bought lots of jamun fruits with which I experimented chutney through which I found a way to preserve and use for at least 2 weeks.

Ingredients
Jamun fruits - 1/4 kg
Ghee - 2 spoons
Chilli powder - 1/2 spoon
Salt to taste
Method
Wash the jamun fruits and cook in a vessel along with 1 cup of water for about 8 to 10 minutes. Allow it to cool down.
Separate out the seeds and grind the pulp in a mixer grinder.
Heat a thick bottomed kadai. Add ghee, chilli powder. After 5 seconds, add ground pulp, salt. Cook this for about 15 minutes in low flame.
Switch off the stove, allow it to cool down. Please note that, after it cools down it gets bit thicker.
Store it in container. Keep this in fridge. This can be consumed for over 2 weeks.
This can be served with dosa, idli, chapati etc.
