Radish leaves curry / Moolangi soppina palya

 


Ingredients

Radish leaves - 1 bunch
Onions - 2 medium sized
Green chillies - 2 to 3
Garlic cloves - 8 to 10
Oil - 2 spoons
Bengal gram dal - 2 spoons
Mustard seeds - 1/2 spoon
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Peanut - 1 fist full
Salt to taste

Method

Finely wash the radish leaves and chop into small pieces. Chop onions, garlic cloves (ensure to remove the outer layer of garlc cloves) and green chillies into small pieces.

Finely roast peanut in a small kadai in low flame. Allow it cool down. Grind the same into coarse powder.

Heat a thick bottomed kadai. Pour oil. When oil gets heated up, add Bengal gram dal, mustard seeds and turmeric powder. When mustard seeds start spattering, add green chillies, garlic cloves and roast. After 15 seconds add onions and stir fry for about 30 seconds. Now add chopped radish leaves, salt and mix well. Close the lid and cook in low flame for about 5 minutes. Add peanut powder, mix well and cool for one more minute. Switch off the stove.

This goes well with Chapati, roti, rice etc.
