Anjur fruit halwa / Fresh fig halwa / Anjeer halwa


Anjeer / Figs are great source of iron. Anjeer halwa is a great form to consume by buying once and preparing and eating for many days for people suffering from anemia. 

Ingredients

Ripe Anjur fruit pulp - 3 cups
Sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 2 spoons

Method

Use 8 to 10 ripe Anjur fruit. Peel off the skin. Check if there are worms, if so, discard them. Chop the good ones into small pieces and grind them using mixer grinder without adding water.

Heat a thick bottomed kadai. Add Anjur fruit pulp. Keep on stirring for about 15 minutes. Now add 1 cup of sugar and cook by keep on stirring for another 10 minutes. Then add ghee and cook for 2 minutes.

Apply the ghee on a plate and keep it ready. Transfer the contents on to the ghee applied plate. Allow it to cool down.

Cut into square pieces.
