Jackfruit Dosa / Halasina hannina dose / Halasina dosa / Flavoured Dosa




Ingredients

Rice - 1.5 cups
Chopped jackfruit - 2 cups
Green chillies - 3 to 4 or Jaggery - 1/4 cup or can use both
Salt to taste

Method

Wash and soak the rice in water for about 6 to 8 hours. Chop the jackfruit into small pieces. Measure 2 cups of jackfruit pieces.

Remove the extra water from soaked rice and grind the same along with chopped jackfruits, green chillies into to dosa batter consistency. Use equal quantity of rice and jackfruit pieces if you are grinding multiple times in mixer grinder, so that you don't have to add extra water while grinding. Batter need to be finely ground. Add salt and mix well. 

Green chillies is optional. If you like sweeter version you can add 1/4 cup of jaggery instead of green chillies. If you like sweet and spicy version, can add both.  Jaggery quantity has to be changed based on sweetness of jackfruit you are using.

Optionally we can add grated coconut for enhanced taste.

Allow the batter to ferment overnight.

Heat dosa pan. Grease the pan with oil. Pour the dosa batter and spread the same and cook on both the sides. Serve hot dosas with ghee.
