Homemade Rice Rava using Stone Grinder

I have grown up in a village where the cooking was done from scratch. My family used to prepare rice rava, rice powder, aval, coffee powder, all masalas at home. I am adopting some of those good practices back in my daily routine. Sharing the method to prepare rice rava at home. If you want to prepare rice powder, just dry washed rice for about an hour instead of 6-8 hours.

Ingredients
Rice

Method
Wash the rice and stain the water. Sun dry the rice on a cotton cloth. Cover the rice with thin cloth on top so as to avoid dust. Dry it for around 6-8 hours under hot sun.

Wash and dry the stone grinder. Keep it on a thick plastic bag. Spread large paper or plastic sheet. Keep the stone grinder on this.

Add rice and start grinding as shown in the video. Rice rava is easy to prepare. It does not consume too much effort. Try it out if you have stone grinder. Or buy one if you wish to use freshly prepared rava for cooking.

Rice rava can be used to prepare Modaka (also known as Pundi), Upma, Idli etc.
