Recipe courtesy - Muniyamma, my neighbor and friend.

Ingredients
Dill leaves (ಸಬ್ಬಸಿಗೆ ಸೊಪ್ಪು / Sabbasige soppu) - 1 medium sized bunch
Bengal gram dal - 1/2 bowl
Green gram dal - 1/4 bowl
Toor dal - 1/4 bowl
Rice - 1/4 bowl
Green chillies - 5 to 6
Onions - 4 to 5
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 1 Spoon
Salt to tatse
Lemon - 1 medium sized

Method
Wash and soak bengal gram, toor, green gram dal and rice together in a vessel for around 3 hours.

Finely wash and chop the dill leaves into fine pieces. You can use the tendor leaves and keep aside the thick stem part and use it to prepare some other dish (can add to Sambar, Upma etc.).

Remove the skin of the onions and chop them into fine pieces.

Remove skin of the ginger and chop it. Grind ginger, green chillies, cumin seeds into a paste.

Remove the water from soaked dal and rice. Grind the same using a mixer grinder into coarse batter by just adding 3 to 4 spoons of water. Transfer the contents onto a vessel. Now add ginger, chilly, cumin paste, chopped onions, salt, chopped dill leaves and lemon juice and mix well.

Please note that the consistency of batter should be as such that we can make the balls using hand. If it is too dry, Nucchinunde becomes very hard. So, 3-4 spoons of water should be good enough.

Now make small balls from the batter and steam cook it.  Serve hot with Chutney.
