Breadfruit Fritters / Jeegujje Podi



Last weekend, i was visiting my sister in law's house in Vidyaranya Pura. Happened to see lot of breadfruits (known as Jeegujje in Kannada) in her neighbor's tree. Could not avoid temptation.. Went and bought few breadfruits from them. We can make sambar, curry, podi etc. Here is the recipe of Podi for you.

Ingredients

Breadfruit - 1
Chilly powder - 1/4 spoon
Garam masala powder - 1 pinch (optional)
Chiroti rava - 3 spoons
Oil - 4 to 5 spoons
Salt to taste

Method

Remove the outer skin of the breadfruit and also the inside center portion as shown in the photos and cut into thin slices. Add salt, chilly powder and garam masala powder and mix well and keep it aside for about 10 minutes.

Heat a thick iron tawa. Apply oil all over. Take out the breadfruit slices one by one and place them on chiroti rava so that both sides are covered with chiroti rava. 

Now place them on tawa and cook each side for about 10 minutes in low flame by apply oil.
