This being the mango season in India, its time to enjoy the king (& Queen:)) of fruits in all forms (eating the fruit as it is, Jam, milkshake, ice cream Raw Mango rice (Chitranna), Chutney, Kayi rasa etc..). Mango Sasive (known as ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಸಾಸಿವೆ / Mango Sasive is a form of Raita) is one of dish enjoyed by many in Malnad and costal Karnataka region. This dish is mostly prepared with small mangoes, alternatively we can prepare with regular varieties too.

Ingredients
Small Mangoes - 8 to 10
Coconut - 1/2 medium sized
Powdered Jaggery - 8 to 10 spoons
Green chillies - 3 to 4
Mustard seeds - 1 spoon
Curd - 1 cup
Salt to taste
For tempering
Oil - 1 spoon
Mustard seeds - 1/2 spoon
Red chillies - 1
Method
Wash and remove the skin of the mangoes. Squeeze them to extract the juice. Retain the mango nut as well in the juice. Its fun eating masala engrossed nut...
Grate the coconut and grind the same along with green chillies, jaggery and mustard seeds by adding curd. Mix this masala onto the squeezed mangoes. Add salt and mix well.
Heat the oil in small thick bottomed vessel. Add oil. When it gets heated, add mustard seeds and red chillies. When mustard seeds starts spattering, switch off the flame and add to the Sasive.
