Dill seeds dosa / Sabbasige beejada dose


Dill seeds (Called as ಸಬ್ಬಸಿಗೆ ಬೀಜ, Sabbasige beeja in Kannada) helps aid digestion and to strengthen bones as it is rich in calcium. It has been included as part of grand mom's recipes for lactating mothers to improve breast milk quality and quantity. 

Dill seeds are not widely available.. When i saw this in TSS shop, Sirsi i recalled the Dosa recipe my mother used to make. Picked it up and cooked it up:). 
Here is the recipe for you to try.


Ingredients
Rice - 2 cups
Urad dal - 1/2 cup
Dill seeds - 1/4 cup
Jaggery - 2 to 3 medium lemon sized
Salt to taste

Method
Soak rice, Urad dal and Dill seeds for about 5-6 hours. Grind it by adding water. Add jaggery, salt and grind further to Dosa batter consistently. Keep it aside overnight to ferment.

Heat tawa. Apply oil and make Dosa. Cook on both sides. 

Serve hot dosa along with ghee.
