Watermelon Dosa



Best part about summer is the pleasure of eating watermelons. Here is the watermelon Dosa recipe in which we use the green portion of watermelon (the layer between skin and the ripen red fruit portion inside). We generate less garbage... Please try it out & share your comments.

Ingredients
Rice - 2 cups
Chopped watermelons - 2 cups
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Grated Jaggery - 1/4 Cup (optional)
Pepper corns - 3 to 4
Salt to taste

Method
Soak the rice for about 5-6 hours. Wash and stain off the water. 

Cut the watermelon into slices. Remove the skin (remover only the hard portion of the skin). Separate out the red portion of the watermelon which we can use it for eating as it is or for preparing juice. Now we are left with light green portion of the watermelon. Finely chop the same.

Grind chopped watermelon, rice, coconut and pepper corns, salt without adding any water. Water from the watermelon is sufficient to grind.  Grind the contents till it becomes fine batter. Keep it overnight.

Heat the tawa. Spread the oil on it. Pour dosa  batter and spread it. Cover with lid Dosa should not be so thin as well it should be very thick. Cook on both the sides.

Yummy watermelon dosa can be just eater with ghee / chutney.
