Sprouted Horse Gram Rasam / Hurali molake kalu saru

Horse gram (called as ಹುರುಳಿ ಕಾಳು in Kannada) is type of lentil consumed in India. Horse gram is very rich in protein. I remember my family used to grow this in our farm couple of years back. Even the dried plant of horse gram is so nutritious that, we used to chop it and feed to cattle.

Sprouting adds extra nutrients to lentils. Here is the nutrient rich sprouted horse gram rasam recipe for you. Please try and share your feedback.

Fry all the masala items and grind them along with coconut.

Separate out water from cooked horse gram into a pan. Add 1/10th portion of cooked horse gram into it. (Will share another recipe soon on what to do with cooked horse gram).

Add the ground masala to the pan, add tamarind water, salt and Jaggery and boil it for about 15 mins.

Cut the garlic cloves into small pieces. Heat oil in a small frying pan. Add chopped garlic cloves and cook it for about a minute. Add this to the rasam.
