Rice, Coconut Kodubale

Here is another recipe from my grand mom. Rice Kodubale prepared using raw rice, coconut and green chillies. Please note that this Kodubale has to be eaten freshIt will lose its crispiness after 30 minutes.

I love the coconut flavor of this Kodubale.

Ingredients
Rice - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Green Chillies - 5
Salt to taste
Oil - 1/2 litre

Method
Soak the rice for about 2 hours. Remove the water and grind in a mixer grinder along with grated coconut, green chillies and salt. Add 1 cup of water while grinding. Finely grind the ingredient to smooth batter.

Heat a thick bottomed Kadai and apply one spoon of oil. This is to reduce the batter sticking to the bottom of the Kadai. Pour the ground batter and add 1/2 cup of water to the mixer grinder container, shake well and pour this to the Kadai. You can also add cumin seeds to this batter if you like.

Now keep stirring this batter using a spatula. Ensure to keep the stove on medium flame so that dough gets cooked properly and consistency is even.

When the batter becomes solid (consistency should be such that you should be able to make balls from the dumplings) - let's call this dough. Switch off the flame.

Take some part of dough and make Kodubale using hand. You can also use banana leaf or a thick plastic sheet to make the Kodubale.

Now heat the oil in another thick bottomed Kadai. Add prepared Kodubale onto the oil and fry the same till it turns light brown.

Yummy Kodubale is ready to eat.
