Mangalore Cucumber Dosa / Mangaluru southe kayi dose



Ingredients

Mangalore Cucumber – 1 medium sized
Rice – 2 cups
Urad Dal – 1/4 cup
Methi seeds – 1 spoon
Grated Jaggery - 3 to 5 spoons / Green chilli - 3 to 4

Method

Soak rice, urad dal, methi seeds for 6-8 hours. Grind the same along with jaggery/green chillies.
Cut the Mangalore cucumber, just remove the inside seeds and soft portion.
Grate the same along with the skin and add to the batter. Keep it overnight. Make slightly thick Dosay. Eat with homemade ghee.

Mangalore cucumber is known for its cooling effect and dietary fiber. Will help to stay away from constipation. Easy way to add vegetables in our breakfast.






Mangalore Cucumber also called as Madras Cucumber is a variety of cucumber. Rugby ball shaped orange-yellow in color with green stripes all around. It is generally available in the market across south India (picture below is for reference)
