Toor dal, small onion chutney


After having lot of sweets during the festival season, we feel like having some spicy curries / chutneys etc. Here is one such easy to prepare chutney variety you can try post festivals.


Ingredients

 

Toor dal - 4 spoons

Small onions - 12 to 15

Red chillies - 4 to 6

Tamarind - 1/2 small lemon sized ball

Oil - 1/2 spoon

Salt to taste

Jaggery powder - 2 spoons (optional)


Method


Roast toor dal, red chillies with oil. Preferably use chillies which are not spicy (like Byadagi chilli). 


Wash and remove the skin of small onions. Grind roasted toor dal and red chillies along with small onions, tamarind juice, salt and jaggery using a mixer grinder. 

Transfer the contents on to a vessel. Yummy chutney is ready to serve.


This goes well with Chapati, Roti, Dosa etc.
